GSM/SPRS Cell Phone Projector on Sale at Chinavasion

In April 2007, we reported that cell phone video projectors were coming soon. In July 2007, we reported that Microvision and Motorola were developing a cell phone projector.  Then in February 2008, we reported that Samsung unveiled the MBP-100 cell phone projector at the Mobile World Congress trade show in Barcelona, Spain.

As usual, new cell phone technologies will hit the Asian and/or European markets before the North American market. Chinavasion has a tri-band GSM/SPRS touch screen cell phone projector on sale for $373.13 for techno-geeks looking to give presentation with their cell phones.

The cell phone features a bright projector, touch screen, WAP, Bluetooth, 1800mAh battery, open SIM card, MP3/MP4 players, 1.3mp digital camera, image viewer, video recorder, and rich media environment messaging options.

Colorware does BlackBerry Bold, ours is on the way

Without Colorware we’d be drowning in a sea of boring and staid run-of-the-mill devices. Yeah, we said it! Always one to let you express your inner creativity, Colorware has finally added the BlackBerry Bold to its arsenal of devices, computers, and gadgets. Never one to pass on the opportunity, we’ve got on Bold on the way and we’ll be sure to give you a first look at it when we get it. The only problem? Well, the BlackBerry Bold as you all know isn’t quite available in the USA yet, so the only ones that are using Bolds in the country (for the most part) are people that have unlocked Rogers units. While that’s fine, Colorware currently doesn’t ship to Canada. That leaves you legit Canadians in the dust for now. But look on the bright side, you have Rogers as a best friend. Just don’t let us catch you with our patented BGR color combo, ok?

Microsoft targets Google’s Achilles Heel in the online search war

Rather than take Google head on in the search wars which given Google’s dominance is probably an impossible feat, Microsoft is honing in on Google’s weaknesses instead. This strategy is apparent in its latest acquisition announced Sunday in which Microsoft purchased Greenfield Online, owner of Europe’s largest shopping price comparison website ciao.com, for a cool $486 million. Ciao.com provides online product price comparisons and user submitted reviews. Users are encouraged to write reviews by paying them a small amount for each positive comment received. That’s cool. Microsoft intends to expand this program by offering a cash back program for all users who purchase products through the site, not just US users who have been demoing this new feature for the past few months. Even cooler. Active in seven European countries, it receives 19.6 million unique visitors per month in Europe. Though hardly the purchase to finally propel Microsoft over Google, it may help Microsoft increase its market share, especially in Europe where it garners a pitiful 2%.
